Andi McDonald Published in ABA’s Litigation News, Featuring Ryan Ellard
Sep 09 2025
Andi McDonald recently authored a feature article for the American Bar Association’s Litigation News, which examined the legal protection provided by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act in the context of the tragic attack at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Featuring comments from litigation leaders, including Ryan Ellard, CIPP/US, the article explores how this provision continues to protect internet-based platforms — such as Meta (Facebook, Instagram) — from liability for third-party content, even in scenarios like mass shootings where social media may have played a role in encouraging the violence.
