Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has been shortlisted for seven awards at the Legal 500 ESG Awards, underlining the firm’s continued commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) excellence across its people, culture and client work.
The Legal 500 ESG Awards recognise outstanding ESG initiatives and individuals within the UK legal market, celebrating leadership in responsible business, sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion and social impact.
This year, WBD has been shortlisted in the following categories:
- DE&I: Private Practice Champion of the Year – Jane Freeman, Head of Wellbeing & Engagement
- DE&I: Rising Star of the Year – Nazmin Akthar, Managing Associate
- ESG: Private Practice Champion of the Year – Sally Dallow, Partner Lead for Responsible Business
- Best Law Firm Advisory Team: Sustainable Finance – Womble Bond Dickinson
- Best Internal Support Network of the Year – Womble Bond Dickinson: Talk Club / Men’s Wellbeing Group
- ESG: Law Firm Initiative of the Year – Womble Bond Dickinson: roll out of Thrive, third party social value platform, to measure and demonstrate responsible business impact
- DE&I: Law Firm Initiative of the Year – Womble Bond Dickinson: Wellbeing Working Practices.
The shortlisting reflects the firm’s holistic approach to responsible business, combining strategic leadership, inclusive workplace initiatives and innovative client advisory services, alongside a strong focus on wellbeing and social value impact.
They are the latest in a series of nominations for the firm, which has also been shortlisted at the Northern Power Women Awards for Nazmin Akthar (Agent of Change) and WBD as a Large Organisation, the Diversity and Inclusion category at the LexisNexis Legal Awards, and the Women and Diversity in Law Awards, where Sally Dallow is shortlisted for Law Firm Leader of the Year and WBD for Law Firm of the Year.
The Legal 500 ESG Awards ceremony will take place on 30 April in London.
